Project overview
Honey Oak to Hale Navy
A Berkeley bungalow kitchen with solid but dated honey-oak cabinets. The owner wanted a moody navy finish with brass hardware — the catalog look, without the catalog price.
The challenge
Deep oak grain that would telegraph through ordinary paint, plus heavy cooking residue around the range hood that threatened adhesion.
Our approach
Two rounds of degreasing, grain filler sanded glass-smooth, bonding primer, and a fine-finish spray of 2K urethane in deep navy. Holes were re-drilled for new brass pulls, and the uppers got a soft-white interior refresh.
Scope
22 doors & drawers, grain fill, new hardware fit, interior upper refresh.
Products
2K urethane enamel in deep navy, high-build grain filler, bonding primer.
Result
A designer kitchen for a third of replacement cost — backed by our 5-year cabinet warranty.
